SHANGHAI - October 2009. The Annual Shanghai Fine Jewellery and Art Fair ("SFJAF") will be held once again at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. 

 

This full-scale international fine art fair, will featuring top works from around the world and from different historical periods.  This is a unique chance for Chinese art collectors, art enthusiasts, as well as for visitors from other countries in Asia and around the world to purchase international museum-quality masterpieces at this extraordinary venue.

 

The highlight of SFJAF is a Charity Gala Dinner co-organized by the "Hurun Report", the Chinese fortune listing organization.  The funds raised by this event will be in aid of the Shanghai Charity Fundation for Cultural Education of Children.

 

Forty of the world's most important fine art galleries, fine jewellers and antique dealers from Austria, Belgium, China, Frence, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherland, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, United Kindom and the United States of America were selected to participate.

Chen Chi and Zhiyuan Cong at the Butler Museum of American Art

Two of the Elizabeth Wang Gallery’s most prominent artists, Chen Chi (1912 - 2005) and Zhiyuan Cong (b.1955), were featured artists at the Butler Museum of American Art in Ohio.


The Butler Institute is the oldest museum of American art in the United States. The original structure, dedicated in 1919, is a McKim, Mead and White architectural masterpiece listed in the National Register of Historic places. The Butler is known worldwide as "America's Museum."

This exhibition was a good indicator of the growing importance and recognition of contemporary Chinese art in America and around the world.
